  1. I’m back! April 30, 2002

Okay, so…yeah. It’s been over a week since I paid any attention to my website. Sorry for being so lazy…there’s been a fair amount of crud going on, and, to be honest, I just wasn’t in the mood to bitch and moan about it until some more of it was resolved.

  2. Life or Something Like It April 29, 2002

While it wasn’t anything amazing, it was certainly a very cute little romantic comedy, and I think it might be the best role I’ve seen Jolie in (and a very welcome change from the dreck that was Tomb Raider). An enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes, at the very least.

  3. ISSN 1539-4387 April 29, 2002

Back in March I found out that I could apply for an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) for my blog, legitimatizing it as a serial publication in the eyes of the U.S. Government.

  4. Funniest man on the planet? April 21, 2002

I’m not entirely sure if Robin Williams is the funniest man on the planet or not, but after being able to see him live tonight — it wouldn’t surprise me!

  5. I wanna go! April 18, 2002

This may surprise some of my friends, as I’m not generally known as much of a country listener (you can thank/blame [depeding on your preference] many of the women in my life for that little quirk), but there’s a show at the Gorge that I really wish I could afford.

  6. Supreme court does good April 17, 2002

The radio at work was trained to The Buzz, a local talk-radio station, and I heard a good talk show tonight that carried with it some extremely good news — apparently the Supreme Court today upheld a ruling declaring the 1996 Child Pornography Protection Act unconstitutional.

  7. That’s icky April 17, 2002

Rather than car, credit, or casino ads, I’m currently getting a banner that starts with a picture of the American flag. The next frame says, ‘Own a piece of history…’, and the third frame offers, ‘Own a plaque made with the metal from the World Trade Center’. It then closes with, ‘WE WILL NEVER FORGET’.

  8. Hello from Microsoft! April 16, 2002

This is mostly just me being silly — I wanted to grab a chance to make a post to my blog from within the Microsoft domain.

  9. Blade II April 13, 2002

Candice and I went out to see Blade II this afternoon. Candice didn’t think to highly of it, and while I can’t really refute her impressions, I had a lot of fun with it.

  10. The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien April 12, 2002

It really is as good as people say it is. Not that I ever really doubted that, however, it’s far different to have so many people hold it up as a masterpiece of fantasy, and to be able to actually form that opinion for yourself.

  11. Fire next door! April 11, 2002

Well, here’s some early morning excitement. Apparently the apartment building next door to me is on fire. Sirens got my attention, and I just counted 6 fire engines, 2 Fire Dept. blazers, a FD van, and an ambulance all around here right now.

  12. Site statistics are back April 10, 2002

It took a while, and I had to reset my server logs to do it, but the site statistics page is live again. Getting it running was a bit of an adventure, that’s for sure.

  13. Goth humor April 9, 2002

I was hanging out in the Yahoo! Chat Alaska room this morning, and ended up meeting Wytchmagick on there. After discovering we shared some interests, we started tossing some links at each other, which was quite entertaining.

  14. I’m employed again! April 9, 2002

Well, after a whole week and a half of being unemployed, I start work again tomorrow! I’ll be working at the Xerox printshop on the Microsoft campus, the same place that I worked two days at last Friday and Saturday. I guess they liked me!

I found a fun little hack for MT over on So Very Posh today, and thought I’d give it a shot. So — my site now has smileys!

  18. Yay for temp agencies! April 4, 2002

It’s not a long term deal at all, but I’ll at least have an assignment for the next couple days. Today’s called with a slight emergency today — a 2-day posting at Microsoft, working a swing shift from 2pm-10:30pm.

Well, I got some good news today. Not a job yet, but at least a little extra funds coming my way.

Okay. How’s this for an ‘April Fools’ day post — I got fired. Unfortunately, this isn’t a joke.
