Traditional Christian marriage

The consecration of Gene Robison as bishop of the New Hampshire Diocese of the Episcopal Church is an affront to Christians everywhere. I am just thankful that the church’s founder, Henry VIII, and his wife Catherine of Aragon, and his wife Anne Boleyn, and his wife Jane Seymour, and his wife Anne of Cleves, and his wife Katherine Howard, and his wife Catherine Parr are no longer here to suffer through this assault on traditional Christian marriage.

  1. great point

  2. Amazing how quickly the above statement sets the issue straight.

Personally, I don’t need the church to know what’s wrong and what is right. Obviously, in North American culture many of us are influenced in some manner by God given His absolute integration into society but I like to believe that the purest way to be a good person is to be open minded, peace loving, diplomatic, compassionate, accepting, forgiving and capable of remembering the past and learning for the future.

Thus far, organized religion (in many cases) has served to overwhelmingly close the minds of millions. People are taught there are pure truths and worshippers feel obliged to defend those truths with violent fervour and steadfast ignorance despite how their actions deface their beliefs.

But hey, maybe it’s just me.
