New tagline for the blog went up today. Inspiration should be blatantly obvious (at least if you’re into early 90’s one-hit wonders).

Besides, I was bored.

This did, however, inspire some new shirts now available for sale through CafePress:

To the left, the “I’m too sexy for my blog” t-shirt. Let your ego go wild, show of just how good you are! You deserve it!

And on the right, for those people who don’t deserve to be graced by your presence — the “I’m too sexy for your blog” t-shirt! Face it, some blogs just aren’t worth your time. Don’t be shy about it — announce it to the world!

Or not.

You know.

Whatever.

I just do these things because they amuse me.

Here we go again.

You did check to see if “ I’m too sexy for my …..” was trademarked? At this point you can’t even say it was original. Your own blog states.

Open a cake shop and use the line. “You deserve a cake today” And see what kind of letter you get from McDonalds? I’ll give you a hint. It won’t be Hey! That’s cute letter.

You did ? Draw the lips yourself ? Pleaseeeee don’t tell me your using someone else’s image on a shirt your selling!

Were you doing this for a shirt for yourself I would say. That’s too cool Rock On! But you “selling” it and that changes everything.

By the way I LOVE the shirt.

1> As Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” was a song, their music and lyrics are copywritten, but not trademarked. I’m sure that this would fall quite comfortably into the “fair use” clause given that only five words are the same (“I’m too sexy for my…”) and through the parody clause. I’d certainly never claim that the “I’m too sexy for my…” phrase was original to me — the song isn’t that obscure, and that’s part of what makes this amusing.

2> The lips image came from an online library of freely available clipart.

Really, I’m in no hurry to get myself in any trouble for anything else. I’ve had enough controversy for quite a while.
