Look out, Bush
Politics 01/28/2004 |From Daily Kos’ look at the results of yesterday’s New Hampshire primaries (I’ve updated and expanded it with the final reported numbers):
The best story of the night? The one that should unite us all? From the Republican primary results:
Bush 53,749 Kerry 1,420 Dean 974 Clark 851 Edwards 808 Lieberman 511 Kucinich 28 Braun 15 Gephardt 14 Sharpton 11 That’s 4632 registered Republicans who wrote in a Democrat in their ballot. That’s got to scare the shit out of Rove.
<
p>Meanwhile, Kerry again took the top spot, with Dean in second this time. Still a lot more primaries and possible jostling to come, though.

found this site on a web search for primary results. anyway, you should know that in NH, independents are allowed to vote in either parties primary so those votes for democrats are probably from independents.

I don’t think this is something to unite us, other than it suggests that NH Republicans think Kerry is easier to beat than Dean.
I think that there are a significant number of Republicans that will vote for Dems in the primary to get the percieved “weakest link” into the race with their incumbant, making it easier for them to defeat. (Their candidate is running unopposed. He only needs one vote to win the primary.)
That’s why the Washington Republicans have been suing to close the WA blanket primary, the Dems were doing that too frequently to them here.
FWIW, Karl Rove was the first to say “Bring on Dean, we can kick his ass in the general election.” (I don’t have a link, but it was in Time or NewsWeek or something like that…) Karl Rove is also loony, and should be the first against the wall when the revolution comes, but what the hell.

I really, really don’t think that means anything…
