Robsix and Hurin, knock yourselves out.
(More seriously, I’ve been enjoying the debate on the ‘Why I Hate George W. Bush’ thread. While obviously I agree more with some points than with others, It’s been entertaining to watch things keep going [and usually fairly civil]. I keep meaning to jump in myself, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Have fun, though!)

So, the real question is: Is it more important to elect a Democrat, any Democrat, over Bush; or Is it more important to hold fast to one’s principals. The last time the country held fast to its principals, Nader received enough votes to ensure that Bush would squeak by in a few states and be declared President eventually. This is the question the liberal and progressive individuals of America ought to be asking. Either that or we come up with vocation/vacation plans for the next four years or find another country.

This is a real issue for me - on the one hand, I want Bush out of there badly. On the other hand, Democrats (including the current frontrunner) railroaded the USA PATRIOT Act through Congress, and I want to show my displeasure in a way that will affect them. How to ensure that the Democratic Party will pay attention to someone opposed to the PATRIOT Act and the war, when Kerry supported both?
