Sounds like it’s closed
Life 03/10/2004 |Well, I was a bit of an idiot and walked out of the building without my bus pass today, so I’m going to be a bit late for work (which they’re okay with — when I called them, a three-alarm fire next door complete with road closures, some of which are still in effect, counted as a reasonable excuse for being a bit distracted).
Before I realized that I didn’t have my pass on me, though, I passed a TV news crew either filming a report for later or broadcasting live, and overheard the reporter say that Jensonia residents were only being let in the building to retrieve personal belongings, and that the Red Cross is going to be assisting them find places to live. Sounds like the Jensonia finally got shut down.
Now, off to find the next bus to Georgetown…
Update: According to this KOMO report, the building isn’t permanently shut down, though it is closed off for the next few days due to fire, smoke, and water damage.

you don’t learn, do you? Talking on your blog about lying to your boss….
sounds like you’re stepping back into some familiar territory there, mike.

If I recall correctly, he never lied to his boss previously. He was canned because he apparently took photos he shouldn’t have and posted them on his blog. But he never lied about it.

Tempest — would you mind pointing out to me where on here I lied, to my boss or anyone else?

I’m sorry, I never meant to seem rude in any way. All I was saying was that the post about Microsoft buying apple machines led to you being fired from that job. The duality was not that you lied in both cases, but rather that you posted a comment in both cases.
And as for your question Michael, I understood that you were going to be late because you forgot your bus pass, and you’re excuse was about some fire.
Again, no offense intended, I really enjoying your blog and respect the effort you put into it.

ok, after submitting the comment I just noticed your post about the fire. that gives this post a whole new perspective.
My bad

Well, apology accepted, of course.
On the one hand, mistakes do happen, and I’ve certainly had to remove my own foot from my mouth on more than one occasion.
However, I must admit to being somewhat disappointed that your first assumption upon reading this post (and, apparently, this post alone) was that I was inventing a fairly major catastrophe merely to cover up a minor bit of forgetfulness on my part. I didn’t think that that was the impression I was giving on this site.
For the record, I got out of my lying stage a long time ago, and don’t believe that I’ve done anything on this site that might be construed as lying.
Well, maybe the bit involving the goat, the dwarf, the Twister mat, and seventeen assorted flavors of Jell-O gelatin.
But I prefer to think of that as “embellishment.”
