Just curious
Film, Religion 03/19/2004 |I sometimes wonder how people would react to a Biblical film cast entirely with actors from that area of the world. I’d love to see the reaction…or, rather, the reactions across different areas of the globe. No matter how good the film was, I’m quite curious as to how (speaking very generically here) middle America and the Bible Belt would react to a Jesus that was swarthy, with dark, short, curly hair — who looked like Jesus probably really looked like, in other words.
In other words, like the people that our government is doing its best to make sure we’re scared to death of.

Personally, I think Mel Gibson peaked in Road Warrior and has been sliding downhill ever since. The fact that he won’t counter his dad’s rabid opinions and that Mel himself is a fundamentalist should tell you all you need to know about the ethic and soul of that transplanted Australian. Like movies made by or with Hubbardites, I avoid Mel Gibson movies like a real form of plague. Why contribute to the coffers of someone/something which is antithetical to tolerance and peaceful co-existence? Encourage everyone to burn their bibles in front of movie theaters showing the Gibson passion play.

Jesus would have actually had his hair about shoulder length during that time he lived and walked on earth. It was custom for male Jews to grow their hair long.

Didn’t Paul say something about long hair being unbecoming to a man?
I proceed under the assumption that Christ looked like Yasser Arafat.
