It’s like Karaoke gone all wrong
Humor, Music March 24th, 2004 |A few weeks ago while on my lunch break, I read a story about William Hung, the kid who has gained fame and notoriety for his (ahem) inimitable rendition of Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” on American Idol. Since I don’t bother with television, that was the first I’d heard about this little mini-phenomenon, but I thought it was a cute little story.
Imagine my surprise tonight when I discovered that the iTunes Music Store now has William’s rendition of “She Bangs” — along with three other gleefully cringe-inducing songs! I’m not bothering to download any of them — the thirty-second previews were more than enough for me — but it was more than enough to give me a good laugh.
And really…suddenly my fifteen minutes of fame doesn’t seem that bizarre in comparison.
iTunes: “Understood (Hot Tracks)” by Must from the album Roadkill! 2.15 (1995, 6:07).

That kid got way more than his 15 minutes. He was all over the damn place. If I ever see him in the street, I will not refrain from punching him right in his ugly face.
