PDA stylesheet tester?

Is there an online resource that will display a webpage as if it were being viewed on a handheld PDA device? I’ve had a request for a handheld-friendly version of my site, but not having a PDA, I’d essentially be “coding blind”.

Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated. :)

iTunes: “Das Land Der Elefanten” by Nena from the album 99 Luftballons (1984, 3:42).

normally what u can do is to get the Palm Emulator from PalmSource…and find somewhere to get the Palm ROM as it is not readily available. Then run the emulator and install whichever Web browsing s/w into the emulator.

the emulator is free to download…but problem is with the ROM, but well, there are always ways to find it…;)

the biggest issue is that the screen is only 240 pixels wide. add scroll bar on the side and you have even less.

i wonder if coding for PDA is also for cellphone screens?

thanks for thinking of me! i’m having lots of fun, fly out tomorrow. haven’t updated b/c i can’t remember my login URL! do you know it? i’ll be home soon enough anyway…

  4. Can’t your user just add the RSS feed to AvantGo? Or is the request explicitly for direct access, like via wifi?

  5. I find Mark Pilgrim’s mobile templates the best. However, since you use TypePad, you won’t be able to take advantage of the Plugins he uses.

However, Spring Break is here, and since I have both a phone and PDA that can be connected to the internet, I’d be more than happy to help you test out your PDA page. Send me an email.
