That’s one way to get my attention. Woo-hoo! I was always self-recriminating enough to identify with Covenant, though I was also a big fan of Pitchwife and some of the other Giants. Go figure.
I remember being surprised that Stephanie was also a reader of these books in high school. I guess I figured that “the smartest girl in school, trapped in the body of a game show hostess” was my fantasy, not the demographic that read fantasy.

And you’ve really gotta read the others.

I always was tickled that Thomas Covenant had what would be my own reaction when transported to some mysterious magical land: “I’m dreaming this! you aren’t real!”
And I liked the giants.
But so many of my friends disliked Covenant’s actions that it sort of turned me off the novels and I haven’t reread them recently. I dunno about more of the same.

Frell me dead. After all these years, he’s finally going back to finish off the Covenant books like has been rumored since, oh, shortly after the end of the second series came out?
Sad thing is, I don’t know if I’m delighted or horrified. The Covenant books are such a slog! He’s gotten much better since then, but you never pick up a Donaldson book expecting a light, fluffy read. Hmm.
I love Mordant’s Need. I’m sort of so-so on The Gap books, but acknowledge that there’s some very good writing in there. I will probably never again revisit the first two series of Covenant books, though.
