Photography 06/28/2004 |One thing I stumbled across this weekend that I’d never seen before was the Volunteer Park Conservatory, which has five different sections filled with all manner of plants, from cacti to orchids. I’ll definitely want to head back up that way again and try to get some better shots, but for now…

I was just wondering if you ever got the pic of Binky the Polar Bear with the sneaker in his mouth if you did, is ther any way you could send it to me. I use to live in AK and Im doing a report for one of my classes and I cant seem to find his pic anywhere. If you could help I would appericate it. Thank you Stacie

Hi Stacie — there is one picture on the ‘net of Binky with his shoe, unfortunately, it’s not a very good one. It’s at the bottom of this web page.
I did a search in the Anchorage Daily News archives and found some of the articles from the time of the attack. However, the ADN charges $3 per article to read their archives, and apparently they don’t include any of the photos that ran with the stories. Bummer!
