Okay, okay, okay.
I’m a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street series (conditionally — films one, three, and seven are good, the others range from just silly to downright bad).
I’ve only seen the first of the Friday the Thirteenth series, and I enjoyed it (though my only jump was right at the end).
I was even pleasantly surprised by the Freddy vs. Jason crossover film — it was silly and dumb, but very enjoyably so, and not nearly as bad as I’d expected it to be.
I’m also a big fan of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series.
But come on people.
This is just ridiculous — and not a good kind of ridiculous.
If this actually gets made, I just hope they all die. No resurrections. No sequels. There obviously isn’t anything more that can actually be done with any of the characters that actually involves any amount of creativity, so just let them die already.
Ugh.

Well, being the huge Bruce Campbell fan that I am, I personally hope this movie does make it to the screen. I mean, Bubba Ho Tep rocked… I think Campbell would make Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash at least worth seeing
As for Friday the 13th, those are still my favorite horror movies from the great horror renaissance of the late 70’s and early 80’s. While the Nightmare on Elm St. series is a close second…
What’s next Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael Myers vs. Candyman?
A Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash could be good, if they make it interesting and give it a plot, because if they include Ash they have to have something that resembles a plot.
I love the Evil Dead movies but I think Bruce Campbell might be a little old now… plus if the movie has those other “characters” in it they’ll probably drop some of the humor and sarcasm which is why Evil Dead was so great to begin with.
I really wish Sam Raimi would just quit the Spiderman franchise and do Evil Dead 4 instead of subjecting us to this.
I also love the Evil Dead series. The concept could be really cool, but there’s almost no chance of it actually being done well. Bruce Campbell has continually said it wasn’t going to happen, and now that they are hinting at the possibility of it, Raimi wouldn’t even be directing. No good can come of this.
Joel, did you not see any of the Nightmare on Elm St movies? Or at least the later ones? Freddy is all about the sarcasm and goofy puns! He and Ash can totally duke it out with words! And chainsaw hand vs knife hand? Awesome!
I think it sounds like it could be pretty amusing, personally.
