Movable Type 3.2 is coming…
MovableType July 13th, 2005 |Okay, sure, to a certain extent, it’s all propaganda. I’ve got to admit, though — Six Apart’s Pronet series “Our 32 Favorite Features in Movable Type 3.2” is doing a bang-up job of getting me looking forward to MT’s next release.
They’re a bit shy of halfway through the series now (12 down, 20 to go), and while I don’t really know, I’m guessing that the new version will debut right about the time the series is done or soon thereafter. If you’re an MT user and haven’t been following the posts as they appear, it’s worth checking them out. Some nice goodies coming our way soon!
Update: The beta is out — all related news is at the beta blog.
Update: I’ve got a (very bare-bones at the moment) beta testing blog set up. Just a playground for the moment.

On the ProNet mailing list today, it was announced that 3.2 will be available for download as part of a “public beta” starting tomorrow, FYI. I’m excited!

Yeah I am putting off the upgrade of 8bitjoystick to MT3 until 3.2 came out. I am still using 2.6

Oooh, thanks Dan. That just finally gave me the kick-in-the-pants I needed to finally sign up for ProNet!

Eh. For ease of installation, set-up, and just about everything else, give me WordPress any day.
I experienced nothing but frustration in trying to get started on MT when I migrated my blog from Typepad. I should known what I was in for when the installation instructions were 12 pages long.

Baring any last minute problems, we just a few hours from launching the public beta for 3.2 and a lot of what we’ve shown so far filters down through the entire application.
For those of you who felt 3.0D and 3.1 were really heavy in the features for developers, this is the release that really brings that same focus on making it better for developers back to the end user, making everyday life with MT better and easier. Having seen and used it internally, and not being a developer, I’m most excited about all the interface improvements throughout the app you’ve seen just a little of so far.
If you join ProNet another perk is a free commercial license of MT, but the real benefit of ProNet comes if your a developer or professional looking for resources and jobs making money with our products.
