Scribbled notes while watching last night’s episode of Lost. Spoilers, obviously, so only read further if you want to…

Lost

* (Mentioned by Prairie before the show started:) Is Desmond nocturnal, or running on a time schedule offset from “real” time? He was waking up and getting breakfast when the hatch was blown, which was late at night on the surface. * In the bunker: lights behind the blinds to simulate daylight. * Desmond: “Are you him?” Who? * (later) He’s been waiting for someone…a replacement to man the bunker? Apparently he’s been waiting a long time. * Oooh, Jaws gets a cameo! * Sawyer dropped the gun in the ocean…ha! Ah, no, just some of the bullets. * Flashback: Michael got railroaded by those lawyers. * Locke’s being crafty (convincing Desmond to tie Kate up, slipping Kate the knife). * Sawyer figured out that the Others were after Walt, not Claire’s baby. * Desmond: “So the world’s still out there?!” * Later, asked about people getting sick. Apparently there either was (or he was told there was) some sort of dangerous virus on the surface. * The numbers: * Typing the sequence into the computer resets a countdown timer. * Counts from 108.00 to zero. * Was shown flipping to 4.26 before Locke keyed in the sequence. * Desmond was probably waking up to the “alert” beep from the computer telling him that it was about to run down (alert starts at 5.00?). If each unit is a minute, has he been unable to sleep for more than ~90 minutes at a time (shades of Battlestar Galactica’s ‘33’)? * Desmond didn’t seem to recognize Jack through the scope…unclear if he did after Jack recognized him. * That logo (the one seen throughout the bunker) was on the shark’s tail! Genetic engineering? * Flashback: Michael gave Walt a polar bear. * There’s Jin! Beat up, arms held behind his back with a stick. Captured/held by the Others? * Oooh…yeah. The Others. Whee!
