  1. Eragon and Dragon Wings September 25, 2006

I’ve not read either of Chris Paolini’s young-adult fantasy books, Eragon or Eldest, but I saw a trailer for a movie adaptation of the first book, to be released this Christmas season.

  3. Aperture September 25, 2006

Consider this firmly on my wishlist come Christmastime: not only has Apple just upgraded Aperture to version 1.5, but Frasier Spiers has announced the first beta of an Aperture version of his excellent FlickrExport plugin

  4. Cydonia redux September 22, 2006

The European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter has obtained new, high resolution images of the ever-popular Cydonian ‘face’ on Mars, putting to rest (again) the myth that there’s actually a constructed face on the surface of the red planet.

  5. Going to be a busy year… September 21, 2006

Looks like there isn’t going to be a lot of free time in the coming months…but it’s all for a good cause.

  6. Photofront September 20, 2006

I just found a really nice way to create a very slick gallery style presentation: Photofront. A few clicks create a simple Flash-based photo presentation that can either be hosted on the Photofront site or embedded into your own site as I’ve done. Nicely done!

  7. International Vote Like an American Pirate Day September 19, 2006

If I didn’t have to go to work this afternoon, I’d so be spending the day down at the Seattle Center, wandering around, taking pictures, and hoping for the three events to collide in some spectacularly silly fashion.

  8. 21st Century Terrorism September 18, 2006

Don’t worry about having to get your ‘sleeper cells’ set up with bombs or pilots licenses. Instead, figure out enough biology and chemistry to mix up an effective E. Coli solution, put together some simple form of distribution mechanism, then send your agents shopping.

  9. Amazing Race 10 Premiere September 17, 2006

Two quick thoughts on the season premiere of The Amazing Race (which I may not watch any more of, but we figured we should at least watch the first one since they started off here in Seattle)…

  12. Keith Olbermann to Bush September 12, 2006

While skimming over my LiveJournal Friends Page, sirriamnis led me to this ‘Special Comment’ by Keith Olbermann. It’s one of the few things I’ve found worth using YouTube’s embed feature for — this is good. For the bandwidth challenged, the transcript is under the jump.

  13. Me and a Cockatiel September 11, 2006

Spent a very nice day at the Woodland Park Zoo today. I’ve got the photos sorted out and almost ready to upload, but that’ll come tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ve uploaded four taken today of either Prairie or me. Consider it something of a ‘teaser’.
