Things like this would be funny if they weren’t so disheartening. I’m really unimpressed by the culture I live in some days.

Yeah, why are they covering the weather?
I’ve examined this whole issue in my blog, most notably in this post (What is News, Part Two).
I’ve noted somewhere (can’t find it) that things that happen at the City Council level have a greater effect on us than either Iraq OR Paris Hilton (unless, of course, a family member is part of the military or the paparazzi).
