If they say no phone calls and then foolishly list a number to call then they deserve to interrupted by all the idiots that can’t read.
If you’re interviewed, a thank you letter is a much better way to say thank you. Unless you are specifically told to call back in a couple days. “No phone calls please” means no phone calls and if you called me after I told you not to call, well… lets just say that shortens the pile of resumes on my desk by one.
