  2. Seattle PI Getting Sued November 25, 2008

This isn’t much of a surprise. I knew at the time of the collapse that the reporting of the accident was not the PI’s finest hour.

  3. To Blu or Not To Blu? November 21, 2008

With the jump to an HDTV comes the jump to HD programming. Day-to-day entertainment will come courtesy of Comcast — we’re already getting our cable through them, so we’ll just upgrade that to the minimum possible digital/HD package. For movies, though, we’re doing a bit of back-and-forth.

  5. The Answer is Probably “Yes” November 20, 2008

I’m trying to decide if I’m a hypocrite for being unsure about how I feel about Kid Rock’s new single ‘All Summer Long’ — which, though catchy, is little more than new lyrics on top of the riff from Warren Zevon’s ‘Werewolves of London’ — when I’m sitting on a 10.79 GB collection of 1,462 mashups.

  8. Are We On? Tim Conway and Ernie Anderson November 15, 2008

A couple weeks ago, author, actor, and humorist John Hodgman was the guest on NPR’s ‘Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!’ As I listened to John and host Peter Sagal, John’s simple, polite, and deadpan delivery of often ludicrous responses to Peter’s questions reminded me very strongly of an old comedy album of my dad’s that I listened to time and time again growing up, where ABC television announcer Ernie Anderson plays straight man to comedian Tim Conway in a series of interviews.

  12. 2008 Puyallup Fair November 10, 2008

It took a while, but I finally got my photos from the Puyallup Fair processed and uploaded. Prairie and I went on a whim late in the summer, and had a really good day wandering around the fairgrounds. We didn’t go on any rides, but did play some of the carny games, got some cotton candy, looked at exhibits, and had a blast watching the Mutton Bustin’!

  13. Secrets of the 2008 Campaign eBook November 8, 2008

Obviously, seeing as how the only thing keeping me from breaking copyright criminally (rather than simply fragrantly, which is were I stand now) is that I’m not charging for this, so should Newsweek decide to give me the smackdown, this will be disappearing faster than Sarah Palin leaving the stage after McCain’s concession speech.

  15. Principles in Campaigning November 6, 2008

John McCain’s concession speech was by far his best of the campaign. He was, convincing, generous, and passionate. It brought to mind Hillary Clinton’s concession speech last summer, which was also widely heralded as her best. What is it with these politicians that [they] can only give a good speech after they have lost?

  16. Star Trek Original Series DVD Choices Suck November 5, 2008

I don’t want my only option to be the new, George Lucas inspired, new special effects versions. I want the show that my dad introduced me to. The show that had me pointing excitedly somewhere behind me and over my shoulder, exclaiming ‘Speeeeshhh!’ as the Enterprise flew by in the opening credits. The show I grew up with.
