left Ak back in 93. TS and Hyperthermia were my bands of choice. I remember Hyperthermia opened for Metallica @ Sullivan. Good times. Industry13 was my fav hangout. Its crazy that its been almost two decades past. Those were truly magical days.

good article. Josh always does a good job. Too many memories to list. But this summer, 2012, is going to be the best of all. So get out there and check out all the great anchorage bands playing this summer. It only keeps getting better.

Wow... Having done gigs with a lot of these bands this really brings back "the day" I got to play with Ferris and Capt. John in the U.A.A. jazzband and had many a show in front of T.S. Scream. My favorite has to be the first musicians for beans on the park strip when T.S. showed up half in the bag and proceeded to absolutely slay the crowd. Kudos

Thank you for your article. My memories of those days are pretty hazy. I played bass for Hopscotch, and worked at the Java Joint 94-95. I miss everyone I knew back then.

+1 for remembering Billy Rasey. Just today, I learned of his passing and feel a great sadness. What a great guy and talented guitarist. I briefly played in a band with him around '91, but mostly took pictures of the bands of those times. TS, Tractorhead, etc.

RIP Billy Bear
