I’m no hardcore vinyl collector, but I do have a small collection of oddities and goodies that I’ve stumbled across over the years. Everything I have digitized and imported to my computer is listed here, all the albums sitting on a shelf waiting to be digitized are listed here. Vinylicious is a sampling of some of what I’ve found. Enjoy!
Full-length albums will be posted on Sundays (when they’re available, I make no guarantees that I’ll have something to post every week). Singles and old 78s will be posted as and when they are ready to go.
Technical details: Audio is imported using a Sony PS-LX300 USB Turntable to Hairersoft’s Amadeus Pro audio editor, and initially saved as native Amadeus Pro format. Any necessary editing (background noise reduction, crack/pop/skipping repair, and speed adjustment) is done in Amadeus Pro. Once editing is finished, audio is exported in 256 kbps .m4a (for myself) and 160 kbps .mp3 (for upload) format. Artwork is either photographed (for 12” albums) with a Nikon D70s or scanned (for singles and the labels on 78s) with an Epson Perfection V100 Photo and finalized in Aperture and Photoshop. MP3 metadata is set in iTunes.
(Oh, me? I’m this guy.)
