Does anybody know any cds with Gregorian chants? I need to find some for my fiance. What I’m looking for would be similar in style to the ones used on Sadeness by Enigma. Looking for the chants only, no drum or other instruments. We need to sample them for a song that we’re doing called ‘Behind Enchantments Veil’. Thanks in advance.

I’ve got two…not sure where they came from though. One’s on RCA Victor (Swquentiae: Gregorian Chant/K. Ruhland [GD 71953]), the other on ProArte (Gregorian Chants * Ruhland [CDD 287]). Got ’em as presents a while ago. Oh, that first album should be Sequentiae. Can’t type…<grin>

Bingo…you’ve probably got a ton of answers to this already, but the song is “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth” off of Meatloaf’s first album, Bat Out Of Hell. Good, good album…awesome music.

“Animal” (all the versions) have got to be some of my favorites along with the original versions of “Melt” and “Religion”…out of the two new albums.

Actually, I’ve never quite sat down and puzzled out which track is which song, especially on the newer album. No numbers on the sleeve, 14 listed titles on the inside, and another (apparent) three titles on the back of the sleeve. My guess is that Animal is split into three parts…end up with 16 tracks, which works out right with the disc. Odd, though…just what are the bits on the back of the sleeve then?

Also, picked up a single for Religion…good remixes, including a really fast techno version remixed by the Prodigy…two mixes of Crapage by the Orb, and having the Orb remixing 242 is just bizarre…and one fun mix of Religion with lots of samples from Deep Throat. True oddities…but good stuffs.

All I know is that the local Mucusland (Musicland) moved the date in their little book for his new album from October/November to January. Ergh…starting to get torqued at this!

Am on a quest of sorts…

According to a DJ at the local college radio station (88.1 KRUA, if you’re ever up in Anchorage AK), there was a sampler put out by Hollywood records a while back with a remix (not remake) of Queen’s Stone Cold Crazy, remixed by Trent Reznor. I’ve heard it on the station twice, but never been able to find it…

Would anyone have an idea as to the name of the sampler, whether it’s still available, or where I might be able to get ahold of it? Local record stores have been next to no help…

Any help is greately appreciated…

Would someone kindly mail me some objective recommendations for getting Front 242 music?

Personally, I don’t have a whole lot, but…Front by Front is good, best track (imho) being #10, Welcome to Paradise (“Hey poor! You don’t have to be poor anymore! Jesus is here!’) Good sampling…I’ve got both of the new albums…probably like the newest one (05:22:09:12 Off) better. A bit more accessible to me…a wierd blend of old 242, recent Ministry, and Einsturzende Neubauten. <grin>

re: Machines of Loving Grace

I found out about them a while ago from a friend…have everything I can find.

album === Machines of Loving Grace
single == Burn Like Brilliant Trash (now out of print, Reznor produced)
single == Rite of Shiva
album === Concentration

Good stuff (imho). New album, while not produced by Reznor, definitely has some of his touch to it…probably picked up some hints while working on the remixes of BLBT(AJF). Nifty…I like it. <grin>

If I met me, poetry would spring to my mind (both of them):

A single rose
Shoved up your nose
You lick my toes
While in repose
My mother knows
Where Einstein goes
I’m in the throes
Of melanoma

Why? Because it is probably one of my few truly creative joint efforts with a friend, and as such, I am immeasurably proud of it, twisted though it may be. Therefore, when I saw me, each of me would remember the poem, start laughing, and go on our merry ways, only to have simultaneous nervous breakdowns at a later date, when the concept of the world having to cope with two of me actually beat its way into my intellect.

Okay, same rules as before – answers are taken until a week from today, when I send the next one out – but try to have them in by next Tuesday so we can get back onto the old schedule

Here’s the question:

“What’s it like being you?” (Please elaborate)

Being me…I blindly stumble through an undending maze of color, shape, and sound. Some of it makes sense, some of it doesn’t, all of it is amusing. I often wonder if these shapes control themselves, or whether I subconciously control them, creating the world around me as I go. If so, I have one hell of a sense of humor, for I currently find almost everything at least slightly amusing, and often laugh for what most people see as for no reason at all. However, as long as the world around me continues to amuse me, I see no reason to complain.
